The technology revolution has people always wanting to do less, and the machines doing more. With Apple’s new Apple Watch, the next advancement has been made, but is it really worth it and what could come next?

Apple, which started with the iPod, then the iPod touch and next the iPhone, has now introduced the Apple Watch, which is essentially a phone on your wrist. It is their most personal device yet, but some believe it may be bordering too personal, and even ridiculous.

Apple has made huge innovations in technology, and single-handedly revolutionized cell phones and other personal devices, which seem to be improving at a rate so fast that they will soon take over the world. The Apple Watch is the first device that can be worn, making it much easier and faster to use, but that may allow people to be even more involved in their technological devices, and may distract them from the real world.

Technology in this day and age does not just enhance people’s lives, but it takes over them. Nowadays, most people have a smartphone, and everyone can be seen staring at his screen instead of conversing with the people around him. This watch only encourages this behavior, allowing people to worry more about Instagram or Twitter instead of their family or friends around them.

These advances in technology are exciting, but they could be devolving the human race instead of evolving it. Increased technology leads people to be lazier and less interested in why or how things are done. No one cares how or why items are made anymore, all they care about is whether it makes things faster and more efficient. Today, everything is about speed. Everything must be faster, stronger, and better than the previous technology. If people get too caught up in the speed of things, it’ll be too late until they realize it all passed by.

Technology is a blessing, but people need to learn how to use it in moderation. If people keep depending on technology at an increased rate, it won’t be long until everyone is fat and stupid. No one will have any deeper thoughts about life, and the world will be full of machines doing everything for the world.

Everyday technology is improving, and the Apple Watch is a perfect example of what humans are capable of doing, but the only way people can evolve and grow is if they depend on themselves more than lifeless machines.
