The Mira Costa Mustangs boys tennis team beat Redondo Union High School 18-0 yesterday, improving its overall record to 13-3. It was senior recognition night at Costa and seniors Even Han and Mateo Carella won all three of their matches.

Due to senior night, only doubles matches were played by five duos of seniors. Han and Carella were the only duo out of all of the seniors that were able to win all of their matches to contribute to Costa’s win. No singles matches occurred between either team.

“It was really cool to come out and play so well against our Bay League Rival,” Han said, “It was especially good because it was senior night and this is the last time a lot of us are going to play together.”

The Mustangs are 5-1 in Bay League and their next match will be Bay League singles and doubles. The opponent and location of the Mustang’s next match has yet to be determined.

“I am so proud of all of our seniors,” Coach Joe Ciasulli said, “I’ve been with some of them for all four years here and to see them come out and play so well for their last time is great.”
