The Mira Costa baseball team faced off against Morningside High School on Wednesday and won the game 15-0. After the win the Mustangs now hold an overall record of 19-7 and a Bay League record of 5-2.
The Mustangs played against Morningside, which holds a record of 1-13 overall. Senior Luke Jelmini drove in 3 runs for the Mustangs. Senior pitcher Michael Rumpp pitched four innings for the Mustangs while Miles Kluth pitched three.
“During the game we had great hitting,” Kluth said. “We are really playing as a team, and we are improving every game and it has been showing.”
The Mustangs will play Serra High School(13-12) on Saturday. If the Mustangs win the game their overall record will improve to a 20-7 record. The Mustangs are practicing hard as the season starts to come to a close.
“We are practicing hard everyday,” Kluth said. “We are primarily working on our defense but other than that we have been playing really well, we are really blending and we are playing our hardest during every game.”
