El Segundo’s The Point shopping complex features the one thing that could improve a shopping and dining experience: live music.

The Point has become a center for musicians with its Summer Concert Series. The series of impressive bands is an entertaining  addition to the relaxing setting of The Point. The free concert series began in August and will continue every Wednesday until Sept. 30 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

One highlight of the concerts is that they appeal to all age groups, since each one features a different tribute band that performs hits from various well-known and accomplished acts, such as The Rolling Stones and The Beatles. The entertaining music, along with the charming outdoor atmosphere, creates a friendly and amusing environment, making the concerts more entertaining.

Colorful lights are projected across the audience throughout the performances, keeping viewers intrigued while conveying the shifting emotions of the singers, as the tone of the lyrics change with the changing colors of the lights. Additionally, the music is played at an ideal volume that allows listeners  to still talk and enjoy themselves while the musicians play. Compared to other local performances that often overpower their audience, the Point’s concerts contain a relaxed atmosphere.

The grassy field at The Point where the concerts are performed is an open and free environment, allowing the audience to bring beach chairs and relax while listening, allowing anyone to tailor the experience to one’s own unique preferences. Additionally, the outdoor setting provides a viewing area that is both laid-back and comfortable, creating a sense of community for the audience while providing adequate space for the crowd.

Furthermore, every attendee is able to experience the performance while enjoying the other entertainment sources provided at The Point. Children uninterested in the older bands are able to access a fooseball table and a play area. Regardless of age, these concerts are wonderful opportunities to socialize with members of the community while enjoying music.

Overall, the concerts are well-organized events that act as an entertaining activity for all ages. The concert series provides the community with a place to come together and relax in a laid-back environment, while adding to The Point’s wide variety of actitivies.

The last concert of the summer series will take place on Sept. 30. The upcoming bands will be covering The Beatles and Bon Jovi.
