The Mira Costa girls tennis team dominated 17-1 against Marlborough High School, 1-1, at home on Wednesday at 3 p.m. in the team’s tenth non-Bay League match of the season.

Junior singles player Amy Gaal stood out in yesterday’s match, defeating all of her opponents 6-0. Other top players included sophomore singles player Isabelle Lau who won one of her games 6-2.

“The competition wasn’t very difficult yesterday and everyone on our team played solid games,” Lau said. “I was really proud with the outcome of the match and how determined we were to win.”

The Mustangs’ next match is a Bay League match against Inglewood High School at Costa today. Costa’s tennis team is currently 4-1 in Bay League and is 13-2 overall. According to Coach Joe Casulli, the team has a fantastic record this season and should play well against Inglewood.

“The team should play fantastically in its next match, considering the competition won’t be too difficult,” Casulli said. “I am impressed with how they have done this season, and Monday’s (match) should be no different.
