Mira Costa’s boys golf team defeated South Torrance High School 199-203 in a non-conference game on Wednesday at the Los Verdes golf course, with a top performance by junior Carson Armstrong.

The Mustangs played a solid match throughout the nine holes and were down 3 strokes in the beginning of the match. The team continued to dominate and with a best score of  37 by Armstrong Costa came out victorious. According to sophomore Jack Major, the team didn’t play to the best of its capabilities.

“I believe our team played really well and our performance was strong,” Major said. “None of our team members got high scores so we were able to end up with a solid score.”

The Mustangs are currently 1-1 overall. The team’s next game is against Los Verdes High School at the South Torrance Golf Course on Wednesday. According to gold coach John Cox, the team has a lot of skill and should play well on wednesday.

“We have many strong players on the team and I know the players have the capabilities to do well this season,” Cox said.
