The movie “400 Days”, directed by Matt Osterman, is an exciting Sci-Fi film, but the combination of sloppy acting and a boring script causes this movie to be a below average mystery film.
The actors chosen combined with an underdeveloped script makes this film hard to watch and it’s disappointing to see such an interesting plot idea executed so poorly.
“400 Days” is written and directed by Matt Osterman and is about four astronauts who are on a simulated mission for 400 hundred days to analyze the physical and mental effects of space travel on the astronauts. The astronauts discover a lot more about their mission as the trip continues.
“400 Days” starts with a great premise but struggles to execute in the second half. You gain many questions in the first half of the movie, but many of them are not answered or brought up later in the movie which leaves the viewer confused and dissapointed.
Since all the actors are new to this genre of movie, they seem to not take the roles of their characters seriously enough. This makes the plot much less believable and lack in depth. If Matt Osterman chose more experienced actors then they could’ve have made this into a great film.
The script for this movie is incredibly boring and predictable which hurts the films quality. The actors say cliche phrases and give the film a very unrealistic vibe, but the actors could’ve made the script better if they were more dedicated to their lines and showed more devotion to the personality of the character they are displaying.
One of the worst parts of this movie is the seemingly low budget. From cheap, unrealistic sets to awful special effects, this movie really suffered from the lack of money spent on the film. The director spent too much of the budget on getting popular actors, but he really should’ve been worrying about the cheap film quality.
Although this movie really struggled with its acting and script, Matt Osterman came up with a very interesting plot idea and it had potential to be an excellent Sci-Fi. The story line ends up being predictable and unrealistic because they executed poorly.
Overall, “400 Days” written and directed by Matt Osterman is a huge let down and waste of such an unique plot premise. The actors were mediocre and the script was predictable and boring which caused the story to be excruciating to watch.
This movie is unrated and is playing in select theaters or online.
