“Black ops 3” is a great addition to the Call of Duty series and adds many new features never
seen before.
This new game, released on November 6th, has an exciting revamped multiplayer mode
and a new campaign with an interesting story line. Overall the gameplay is very original and is a great addition to the Call of Duty community.
Made by Treyarch, “Black Ops 3” has a campaign mode that is very unique compared to the other games in the series. The story is based in 2065 and the main character, David, is basically turned into a cyborg after barely surviving injuries sustained in a battle. David then faces several daunting missions while attempting to stop many terrorist groups.
The multiplayer mode has introduced the new “thrust boosts” which allows your character to be able to perform actions that were previously unavailable in the series before such as wall running. Lastly, Treyarch has added a new “Zombie’s” map with new features never seen before in the previous Call of Duty games.
One of the most unique parts of this game is the Campaign, or story mode, because the main character has robot components, the power to control machines and stronger melee attacks. It is much more exciting than the average Call of Duty campaign because trying to master these new abilities adds much more to do during the story.
The multiplayer mode also has many new features including the “thrust boosts” that lets the character jump higher and do many more impossible actions such as sliding across the ground and wall running. The gameplay is vivid due to the amazing maps that have many
different colors and elements. Overall the multiplayer mode is an upgrade compared to the other Call of Duty’s due to the newly added thrust boosts and guns but in a good way.
Another highlight of the game is the new mode called “Free Run” which is like an obstacle course for your character. In the courses one is forced to utilize the new “thrust boosts” and jump while running along walls to reach the finish line. This mode has lots of potential because Treyarch can make many more courses to try.
Another feature that the game’s developer have added is increasing the amount of customization that one can do in almost all the game modes. The player can change the appearance of their character, change the gear they are wearing, and choosing which gun to use during the campaign levels. The new customization adds a whole new element to the game because the player can work to unlock new gear and guns.
Treyarch first introduced “Zombies” in the 5th Call of Duty, “World at War”, and ever since then it has been included in all of their games. This year they have added a new map that contains entirely new elements such as a train that can take you around the map to the game mode. It also has great potential because Treyarch can add new maps utilizing some these features.
Overall this new Call of Duty, “Black Ops 3”, may be one of the most exciting Call of Duty’s due to all the new additions to the campaign, multiplayer, and zombies modes. The already amazing game has much more potential due to the fact that they can utilize their new features to add more content to the game in the future.
This game is available for Xbox and Playstation and is sold at GameStop or online.
