Mira Costa’s girls lacrosse lost 14-5 to Chaminade in a non-conference game last Friday at Chaminade High School, with top performances by sophomore Charlie Manley and junior Kelli Mark.

The Mustangs were down the first half because they were unable to keep up with Chaminade’s offense. According to senior captain Ally Keasler, the team struggled and couldn’t come back after the first half.

“We were unable to complete passes which made us tired by the end of the first half making the second half even harder than the first,” said Keasler.

The Mustangs are currently 1-1 overall. The team will next play at a at the Rose Bowl Jamboree tournament  at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena on Saturday. According to senior captain Kayla Sugimoto, the team has a lot to work on.

“It was a tough loss and it showed that we have a lot to work on going into the season, but once we start getting more playing time together I think we’ll be able to win,” Sugimoto said.
