If one’s ever wanted to feel like they’re in a cartoon, then the app Pocket Mortys is the perfect choice. The game is of great quality and contains many fun activities for the player to do in the app.

Throughout Pocket Mortys, Rick and Morty open up portals to other dimensions, and battle alternate Ricks controlling other Mortys. The goal of the game is to build up an army of Mortys to beat the council of Ricks. The reason for doing this is to eventually gain enough badges to be able to get your ray gun back from the evil Rick.

Adult Swim did a great job adding all characters from their show “Rick and Morty” to the app while still following the Pokemon template. There are several different kinds of Mortys in the game, all with different powers, attacks, and defenses. The developers created over one hundred different types of comedic Mortys including “V-neck Morty” and “Mustache Morty” and the player gets to choose which ones to capture and train.

The app’s overall gameplay is spotless, as the creators integrated the app’s characters perfectly into a Pokemon style game. Being a spinoff of Pokemon, the app contains a very familiar atmosphere and gives the player a sense of nostalgia and how to play right away.

This app offers a massive variety of playing options, where players can either invest their time in the main mission, side quests, or just free roam the large map and level up their Mortys. Because this game has so much freedom for the player, it allows the player to do whatever they want to, ensuring the game does not become too boring.

One of the only things this game struggled with was not having enough side missions to do. Often times the main story became a bit redundant so it’s disappointing that there are barely any side quests to do. Although, the game is an app so it creates opportunity for the game creators to put in updates and add even more things to do.

This game is rated “9+” and is available on the app store for the iPhone and on the Google Play store for Android.
