Beginning Journalism Weekend Preview

This Saturday, the 52nd Annual Poway Days Parade is taking place in San Diego, starting at 9:00am. It starts at Pomerado Road and Poway Road all the way to Bowron Road. This is an annual parade that is completely free.

Buy your tickets now for the Drake and Future concert at the Staples Center. This weekend on Friday and Saturday- September 9th and 10th at 6:30 pm. Although the price may be a little high ($600-$200 each),you will enjoy an awesome concert full of great music. See you there!!

From September 2-25 the LA County Fair is going on and admission for adults is $20 and for children it is $12. On September 10, Iggy Azalea is performing at the fair. There is amazing food, games, concerts and more! You do not want to miss it!

Do you want to experience a high school football game? If so, come down to mira Costa high school, located In Manhattan Beach Ca. Tonight is the first home game for Mira Costa at 7:00pm, they are playing la Serna. Come wearing green and gold and cheer on for Costa! These games are filled with excitement and it is a good way to have some school spirit.

The Los Angeles Ice Cream Takedown will be taking place on September 11 @ 2:00 to 4:00 pm at the bootleg theater on 2220 beverly blvd. The tickets will cost $20 to get into the event. Cooks will bring their Ice Cream to compete for money, prizes, and the bragging rights as Ice Cream Takedown champ. 48

This Saturday, September 10th from 12-4pm is Redondo’s 14th Annual Chalk Art Festival on the Pier, an event where anyone can turn the Redondo Pier into a masterpiece. This family event is free for all ages. Prizes will be awarded for a variety of categories.

Tonight at Mira Costa high school there is a Varsity football game. The ball will be kicked off  promptly at 7:00. The Mustangs will be playing against La Serna high. Admission is $7 and for students with asb stickers admission is free. Come out and show your team spirit!

Tonight Mira Costa looks to take down La Serna at home @7. Costa just came off of a big win and look to keep the wheels turning. La Serna has made CIF five out of the past six years and look to beat Costa after last years tough loss.

This weekend, Center Theater Group will be performing Arthur Miller’s “A View From  the Bridge” at the Ahmanson Theatre in Los Angeles. This play showcases a classic love story set in an Italian American neighborhood by the Brooklyn Bridge, in New York. The play is approximately 1 hour and 55 minutes long, starting at 8 PM on Friday night. There will be showings of the play on Saturday and Sunday as well, with a variety of times starting in the afternoon.

This Friday, Varsity football plays La serna here at the Waller stadium at 7 o’clock.It costs around 5-7 dollars if you do not have an ASB on your ID card. “ The boys is ready to face off the other team and we are prepared to play this game” says David Arredondo quarterback of the Varsity team. So come out and support your local school win the first home game!

This event is celebrating the relighting of the 1939 neon Union Theatre marquee at the Velaslavasay Paranorma hosts a daytime street fest and evening reception in its honor. This event comes with taco dinners and a chance to witness the relighting. This event costs $20.16 and it helps support the Los Angeles Neon Jubilee as well as buying a great experience.

This weekend, Los Angeles is holding the 16th Annual Frida Kahlo Artists Exhibit. Frida Kahlo was a prominent figure of the 20th century. The Frida Kahlo Exhibit is a collection of artist’s tributes in all media. The exhibit is up September 1st and continues until October 1st. The exhibit is free, so you will not need to pay in advance for anything. You can find it at 4103 Norse Way Long Beach. It opens at 4:00pm and close at 8:00 pm. Come get muddy this weekend! This Saturday is the Hot and Dirty Mud Fest on Crown Valley Road in Acton, California starting at eight o’clock. Tickets are on sale for $45 for a 5k run and $55 for a 10k run. All finishers will automatically receive a medal and go to the after party following the mud run. Go have fun at the mud run and the after party!

The famous rapper, Drake you may know him from his hit songs, Hotline Bling and One Dance is on his Summer Sixteen Tour performing tonight and tomorrow night at the Staples Center in Los Angeles starting at 6:30pm. This weekend on September 10th and 11th from 10 am to 5 pm Redondo Beach is introducing its newest art festival called Art at the Harbor.  It will take place at the King Harbor in Redondo Beach.  The festival will feature paintings, sculptures, prints and various types of woodworking by extremely skilled artists.
