The Mustangs started out each game even with Redondo, but were able to pull head, winning all three games and keeping their undefeated record, with the scores of 25-16, 25-19, and 25-16. Costa kept intensity throughout the game and had stellar defense says Montag.

“We did really well keeping up a ton of energy that Redondo couldn’t compete with, and executing on our side of the court,” sophomore libero Malia Yuhl said.

Costa, now 4-0 in Bay League and 18-6 overall, next faces Peninsula High School on Monday at home. According to Scott, Costa needs to play the match seriously, without underestimating Peninsula but not playing down to their level either.

“The importance of Peninsula is staying consistent for the entire match and bring the energy we had tonight,” Montag said.
