Mira Costa girls volleyball team crushed Morningside High School 3-0 in a home game on Wednesday. The game’s top performers were junior libero Emily Dubinsky and sophomore libero Riley Hazelrigg.

The Mustangs won all three games quickly, with scores of 25-3, 25-5, and 25-1. Costa started out strong and instantly took the lead. Costa was successful in the game because of its consistent serving runs, according to senior outside hitter Hannah Scott.

“We played consistent, minimized out errors, and took care of our side of the net,”  senior outside hitter Amanda Montag.

Costa, now 4-0 in Bay League and 17-6 overall, will compete at an away game on Thursday against rival school, Redondo Union. According to Scott, Redondo is the biggest match of the league and the Mustangs need all the support they can get to achieve victory.

“It’s important for us to come out confident and energetic,” Montag said. “Redondo is a good team that we can’t underestimate and we have to believe in ourselves and each other.”
