Seniors Ronald Clinton and Danielle Gonzales were announced as the Homecoming King and Queen yesterday during the Varsity football game at Waller Stadium.

The Mustangs defeated Morningside 40-6. During halftime, members of the dance team, cheer team and Homecoming Court rode in cars around the track. The court’s family members escorted them to the field and members of the Associated Student Body listed the electives, athletics and extracurriculars of the Homecoming Princes and Princesses.

Seniors were able to vote for King and Queen during homeroom on Thursday.

“It was such an honor just to be listed on the ballot and I never imagined in a million years that I would be Homecoming Queen,” Gonzales said. “Michai is the kindest person I know and I am so glad that he was by my side as King. I’ve made such amazing friends on the court and memories that I will cherish forever.

The court made a video which was a spin-off of the show  “The Office”, where each member was trying to get a promotion at the office. At the end of the video, the manager of the office awarded Gonzales and Clinton with the position, awarding them with the title of Homecoming Queen and King.

“My time on the Homecoming Court has been the best part of high school so far,” Clinton said. “I had to get out of my comfort zone which was both awkward and fun at the same time. When I was announced as homecoming king, I was utterly shocked and amazed. I know that this night is something I am going to look back on at different stages of my life.”
