You don’t have to be a genius to shop at the Smart Store.

“The Smart Store is a one-stop shop. We have a bigger meat selection than Subway and greater beer collection for those 21 and older than 7-Eleven,” manager Ray Nunez said.

The store offers a fresh deli, magazines, beverages and snacks. It stocks refrigerated and frozen food, candy, chips and basic supplies. Lottery tickets and gift cards are also for sale.

“I thought it was a really futuristic version of a grocery store. Its deli is pretty yummy,” sophomore Bryce Wong said.

The deli counter offers unique signature sandwiches. Their most popular sandwich is the Underground, which consists of chicken, pepperjack cheese, jalapenos, onions, avocado and their signature “underground” sauce. Customers can also build their own sandwich by selecting the bread, meats, cheeses and an assortment of condiments all by computer.

For breakfast, customers can choose from a variety of fresh pastries or create a breakfast sandwich. For drinks, one can always order a cup of the store’s own private coffee blend called “smart coffee.”

Not only can people order at the store itself, but it’s easy to order food for pick up or for delivery by going on the store’s website, www.thatissmart.com, or by phone.

“We have two online systems. You pick out what you want on the online menu and decide whether you want to pick it up or have it delivered,” Nunez said.

The Smart Store is a great place for a quick snack or a big meal as well as for grocery shopping or just browsing around.

“The Smart Store is one of my favorite places to eat and get snacks. I also love that they deliver,” senior Ellie Khorasani said.
