Mira Costa’s boys basketball team defeated Chadwick on Monday in a home pre-season game in the Pacific Shores tournament. The top players were senior guard Ryan White, senior forward Jonas Pittman, junior shooting guard Bobby Barkley, and senior point guard Brandon Chan.
The Mustangs won the game 66-43. According to White, the team did a good job of limiting the other team’s best player and pushing the ball in transition to receive easy points.
“We had good energy and we had fun as a team,” Barkley said.
Costa will play Gardena High School in the Pacific Shores Tournament again on Wednesday at a home game. According to Chan, the team feels like the next game will go well if they execute and bring energy to each possession.
“Our game against Gardena should be a good one,” White said.”If we play the way I know we can, we will get a win and move on to West on Thursday,” White said.
