Mira Costa’s boys soccer team started off their season with a 2-2 draw November 29th at home against a highly ranked St. John Bosco team, with goals coming from junior forward Kyle Johnson and senior forward Coleman Weaver.

St. John Bosco started off the scoring, and finished the first half with a 2-1 lead. The Mustangs were able to come back and tie the game up after a header from Johnson from a throw in. According to Johnson, the result was an impressive result for the team.

“With Bosco being ranked top five in the division one rankings, it was a very positive start to the season to have tied the game,” Johnson said. “It was awesome to see everyone come together and give it their all.”

The Mustangs, now 0-0-1, look forward to their away matchup against Culver City on thursday. According to Johnson, the team played well today but they are always looking to improve.

“I am looking forward to the matchup to see the confidence we have built up after this impressive result,” Johnson said. “But one thing we have to work on is keeping the ball and try not to turn it over as much.”
