The Album “The Search for Everything” follows John Mayers style found in his past albums with pop music but adds a folk like aspect to the music. In the song “Changing” there is a more rock like aspect to it with a guitar rift along with a mellow concept to the song.

The song “Moving On and Getting Over”expresses optimistic view through quality lyrics by telling a story about him getting over his former girlfriend. The track features a mellow sound that changes pace multiple times throughout the track. This song is a great start to the album with meaningful lyrics and a catchy tune.

“Changing” is a masterfully put together song with a mix of mellow folk tone, a killer guitar riff, and passionate lyrics. The pace changes to match the beginning of the song in the end with the same way with mellow lyrics and piano incorporated for an overall upstanding song.

The song “Love On the Weekend” leaves a lot to be desired due to a generic pop like sound that leaves the track with only a catchy sound. This song is unoriginal and sounds similiar to how it has been sung a hundred times over by different artists.

The emotional final song on the EP, “You’re Gonna Live Forever in Me” branches out from his style with a very sad and slow sound. Although the song is not Mayer’s usual style it delivers with compelling lyrics, delightful piano, and whistling that comes together perfectly to create one of the strongest songs on the album.
