All Costa students took the Stanford Survey of Adolescent School Experiences yesterday during English periods, in order to measure students’ perspectives on homework, extracurricular activities and stress among others.

Challenge Success, a research organization based out of Stanford University that aims at providing high school students with the tools needed to be independent, conducted the anonymous survey. The Challenge Success staff will analyze the data and send a report back to Costa some time in March. Costa’s Social and Emotional Wellness Committee will analyze the results and determine the most pressing issues present at Costa and create solutions, SEW committee member and MBUSD Board President Jennifer Cochran said.

“We’ll get very detailed feedback on just Mira Costa’s responses, so we can look at all the things that are important to us like time management and stress,” Cochran said.
