Nicki Minaj opens up more than ever before in her new album “Pink Friday.” A rising star in the music business, fans are raving over Minaj’s new album with not only her ridiculously fun lyrics, but also a sense of who she really is. Even critics are beginning to see her true identity.

Usually seen with different hair colors, accents, and music styles, Minaj presents herself as a plethora of characters. Minaj constantly mixes up her personal image and shows every side to her using her other names like “The Harajuku Barbie,” “Nicki Lawenski,” and “Nicki the Ninja.”

This style of personal branding and her close ties to popular rapper Lil Wayne (she is a part of his “Young Money Crew”) have furthered her career startlingly quickly. She released her first mixtape only six years ago and has since rocketed to notoriety.

“Pink Friday” features many famous artists including Eminem, Rihanna, Drake, Will.I.Am, Kanye West, and Natasha Bedingfield and four bonus tracks. Minaj titles her songs with her own version of English, with tracks like “Muny” and “Did It On’em”.

In the song “Dear Old Nicki,” Minaj reflects on her past life and how she overcame the dramatic change into her new and improved lifestyle as a famous artist. One vulgar track on the album, “Blow Ya Mind,” shows Minaj’s rebellious and cocky attitude.

In the song “Save Me,” Minaj tells all that she loses hope and gives up on her “baby” with only a few touching lyrics, creating a less-than-spectacular song that only sounds self-pitying.

Track 12, “Your Love,”is featured on the album and is consistently overplayed on the radio. On one of the bonus tracks, “Girls Fall Like Dominoes,” Minaj explains her bisexuality with a song dedicated to thewomen in her life.

In the song “Roman’s Revenge,” Minaj and her featured artist, Emineim, both sing a lengthy verse that ends with an off-beat chorus. The song hardly makes sense while all you hear are their relations to a dungeon dragon. The song is completed with an X-rated verse sung by Minaj.

Minaj’s “Fly” is another typical song about achieving goals and aspiring to thrive in life. Rihanna adds flavor to the song by chanting the chorus after Minaj’s verses.

The Brooklyn Barbie went all out for her new album, “Pink Friday.” Minaj’s fellow Young Money rapper and close friend Lil Wayne dropped a new album recently. In joining him, Minaj is without a doubt stepping up her game in the world of rap. “Pink Friday” is on iTunes for $9.99.
