Boys basketball finishes fourth in PV tournament

The Mira Costa boys basketball team finished in fourth place in the Palos Verdes Hilltop Classic tournament, which lasted from Dec. 14-18.

Costa first played against Newport Harbor in pool play on Dec. 14 and won the game 60-47. Their second pool play game was against South Torrance on Dec.16. Despite their efforts, Costa lost 62-54.

The Mustangs competed against Gardena on Dec. 17 for their final pool play game. Costa emerged victorious with a score of 46-38, and this victory put the Mustangs in the runnning for third place. The Mustangs lost in the third place game against West Torrance, however, by a score of 61-45. The Mustangs finished the tournament in fourth place.

Throughout the tournament, seniors Elliot Ozer and Thomas Johnson led the Mustangs. Each of them contributed consistently in each game of the tournament.

The Mustangs, with a record of 4-5, travel to Redondo for a tournament Dec. 27 – 30.
