The Mira Costa boys soccer team competed in the South Torrance Tournament on Dec. 21. The Mustangs were eliminated from the tournament after one win.

Costa began its bracket competition with the Inglewood Sentinels. Costa won the game 1-0 and the only goal of the game in about 10 seconds. Senior Charlie Pitts sent the opening kickoff straight into the back of the net for a goal.

The Mustangs played their second game against the Millikan Rams in the rain. The Rams surged ahead early,  scoring two goals in the first half. Costa stopped the Millikan attacks when the weather favored them, but Millikan was able to analyze the Mustang defense and added two more goals to the score.

The Mustangs play their next game at home against Beverly Hills High School on Jan. 5.
