Rapper Snoop Dogg has recently released a new addition to his albums “Bible of Love.” Unlike his other previous rap albums, this double album falls under the music genre of gospel.

“Bible of Love” is arguably one of Snoop Dogg’s most unique and well-thought-out albums, and features many verses directly from the Bible. The inclusion of these scriptures adds a deeper meaning to the lyrics and includes Snoop Dogg’s personal experiences.

Calvin Cordozar Broadus, Jr., known professionally as Snoop Dogg, is a well-known and respected rapper, songwriter, record producer, actor, and singer. He is famous for his rap albums, many of which fall under Billboard’s Greatest Hits of all time, such as the song “Drop It Like It’s Hot.” He has experimented with various genres of music such as rap, funk, and gospel, which is his newest album.

“Bible of Love” is a double album, featuring a total of 32 tracks. Snoop Dogg has hinted at the release of his gospel album since late September of last year, and fans are raving at the announce of the release, which dropped on March 16, 2018. He has dropped a total of fifteen studio albums, including his most recent “Bible of Love.”

The majority of this album features other artists, such as The Clark Sisters, Faith Evans, and Rance Allen, whose expertise is gospel music. With the exception of the song “Voices of Praise,” Snoop Dogg’s small contribution to each song is minimal, yet adequate, shining light on the newer artists and providing them with the chance to entertain the listeners.

“Bible of Love” was a very controversial release for Snoop Dogg because he completely changed his style of music, going from rap to gospel. However, this album exceeds expectations, still focusing on his rapping while advocating his religion. Snoop Dogg has countless freestyles throughout the album in which he promotes love for God through his lyrics.

Throughout the tracks, Snoop Dogg incorporates personal religious experiences from his adolescence. This can be seen in the song “Always Got Something to Say” where Snoop Dogg raps “My granny used to say ‘Give us our daily bread,’ She put it in my heart, and now it’s in my head.” Including these specific memories leaves the listeners with a better understanding of Snoop Dogg, while illustrating an entertaining story throughout the various tracks.

One of the few downsides to this album is its length. As mentioned earlier, this album contains a total of 32 songs which is a significant amount for one album release, primarily if the album is solely based off of the same topic. Nevertheless, this album is the perfect choice for dedicated gospel listeners.

“Bible of Love” features a wide variety of diverse beats that aren’t commonly used by Snoop Dogg. The tempo of these songs is moderately slow, creating a relaxing rhythm for the listeners. At times the pace picks up, but the majority of these tracks encompass a soothing tempo.

A notable characteristic of this album is the lyrics, which are spiritually uplifting and provide a moving experience for listeners. Snoop Dogg’s reasoning for releasing this album was to promote love rather than hate. The content and flow of these lyrics absorb the listeners and bring them to a place of peace.

As Snoop Dogg’s first gospel album, he successfully released an outstanding album satisfying all gospel listeners with its diversity and spontaneity. “Bible of Love” features a variety tracks that engage the listeners in an uplifting experience, while still managing to incorporate his rapping and staying on the topic of the Bible.

“Bible of Love” was released on Mar. 16, 2018 and can be found on streaming platforms such as Spotify and Apple Music and purchased on iTunes and Youtube.
