Mira Costa Girl’s Golf battle Dana Hills in their second meet of the season

Mira Costa girls golf battled against Dana Hills High School in their second meeting this season on Aug. 30 at Monarch Beach Golf Links. The Mustangs fell short to the Dolphins by a combined score of 229-220.

This match was very tight throughout the day and a few strokes of the golf club was the difference between the win or the loss. One of the Mustangs’ stand out players, was senior captain Shani Waite who led the team with a 41. Another key player for the Mustangs was Bigler shooting a 47.

“It’s only the beginning of the season but it’s really exciting seeing some of the new varsity girls playing in higher levels of golf and gaining experiences from playing tougher courses,” senior Angelica Bigler said.

The Mustangs now are 1-1 and their next match will be against Redondo on September 4 at Chester Washington Golf Course. Costa is looking to continue to improve on their game each and every day to better their craft.

“I think our team played pretty well in the match,” junior Francesca Bennett said. “It was a hard team but I know that we will continue to improve throughout the season.”
