Mira Costa administration instructed teachers on the bottom floor of the math and science building to move out of their classrooms on Wednesday due to a possible mold infestation.

A Mira Costa employee reported a dank smell in the janitor’s office and math teacher Dan Debevec informed his students that his classroom has mold. Administration relocated teachers to available classrooms for the rest of the week in order to check for possible mold in their classrooms. It is not yet known when teachers and students will return to their original classrooms.

“I find it an inconvenience that we were moved out of our classroom today especially since we do not know when we will be able to go back,” senior Emma Krikorian said. “It is also rather gross and could have been detrimental to our health.”
