Takeoff excels in solo project “The Last Rocket”

Takeoff skyrockets delivering catchy well crafted tracks while presenting listeners with a mastery of lyrical bars on his latest album, “The Last Rocket.”

“The Last Rocket,” a solo project by Migos’s member, Takeoff hooks listeners using entertaining tracks with perfect rhythm and memorable lyrics. The well-known artist combines a unique sound of ‘bars’ and melody to execute on all levels. Overall, Takeoff successfully released an above-mediocre album that delivers with quality content.

Kirshnik Khari Ball, professionally known as ‘Takeoff,’ is an Atlanta based rapper apart of the notorious trio, Migos. The Migos comprising of Quavo, Offset, and Takeoff first achieved fame after releasing their track, “Bad and Boujee,” which became the number one song on the billboards in 2016. The group has gone on to release the albums, ‘Culture’ and ‘Culture II’, while collaborating with the most popular hip hop and rap artists, such as Drake.

“The Last Rocket,” Takeoff’s solo debut album is comprised of 12 tracks with no artist features. Despite this, the album does collaborate with the likes of platinum awarding producers including Wheezy, DJ Durel, and Tm88. The album was also the fourth project released in consecutive weeks by Quality Control Records along with artists Quavo, Gunna, Lil Baby, and Lil Yachty.

Takeoff highlights the lavish aspects of his rapper lifestyle while combining it with his melodic deep toned sound to create perfection in each song. In ‘Last Memory,’ Takeoff satisfies in presenting this sound to create the best-sounding track of the album.

Throughout the album, Takeoff engages listeners into a space themed atmosphere using the cover art, featuring Takeoff on a rocket, along with songs titled such as ‘Martian’ and the samples incorporated within the music. An example of this can be heard in the ‘Intro’ where the track begins with recordings of a space launch.

Takeoff shines at exhibiting his lyrical bars with a faster approach to his vocals. In tracks such as ‘Insomnia’ and ‘Vacation,’ Takeoff uses this form of faster rap in combination with his catchy hooks and adlibs to craft hits of songs that catch listeners’ attention.

Released on Nov. 2nd by Quality Control Records, “The Last Rocket” can be purchased on iTunes and Amazon and streamed on platforms such as Spotify and Apple Music.
