Mira Costa boys volleyball kicked off their season with an away game versus Santa Barbara. The mustangs come out on top with a 3-1 victory.

The mustangs started slow in the first two sets due to nerves they needed to get out, according to senior libero Will Bond. They picked up momentum as the game went on, finishing 3-1.

“Even though the game went to 4 sets it really never felt close on the court,” Bond said. “I felt like we were always in control and we consistently put ourselves in a good position to win every point.”

The team is looking forward to the rest of their season, and have high hopes for winning Bay League. Their next game is against El Segundo on Wednesday.

“I’m excited for this year because we have really good team chemistry and we all like being around each other which is really special to have on a team,” Bond said. “I think we have a big chance to win CIF this year.”
