Mira Costa boys tennis beat Chadwick, in a non-league match on Tuesday Mar. 12, during a home match, by defeating Chadwick in all of the nine doubles sets and three singles sets. According to senior, Ethan Han the team was able to stay motivated throughout the match because of team manager, Laszlo Solnicki’s motivational speech.

“I feel like ou motivational speech from Laszlo Solnicki really got everyone hyped and ready to play and I think he should be recognized for it.” says Han.

During the singles matches Tim Dzhurinskiy led the Mustangs, winning two sets, both ending with a final score of 6-2. Kelly Gies also helped contribute to Costa’s victory, winning one singles set, with an ending score of 7-5.

“Tim Dzhurinskiy was the best player and is a very elite player and probably the best high school tennis player I have ever seen.” Says senior, Nick Darrow.

Costa continued to dominate Chadwick throughout the sets of doubles. The duo of Nick Darrow and Matthew Poh won three sets, keeping a steady lead through each set. The final scores of each of the sets were 6-2, 6-1, and 6-0.
