The Manhattan Beach Fire Department selected Daryn Drum as their new fire chief on April 8 after a year’s search to fill the position.
As the 13th fire chief of Manhattan Beach, Drum will take over for interim leader and Police Chief Derrick Abell. Drum has worked in emergency services for 30 years.
“Being a firefighter is such a wonderful and fulfilling job for me,” Drum said. “The job not only provides an incredible sense of family but also a sense of community, and it has given me a connection to my community.”
