Phase 3 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe has finally come to a close after the box office buster, “Avengers: Endgame” premiered on April 25, which has already made over $723 million.

“Avengers: Endgame” is the climactic conclusion to the extended 11 years-in-the-making Marvel Studios movie saga that began with “Iron Man” in 2008. The only word that can even begin to describe “Avengers: Endgame” is epic, with all Marvel back stories and characters being brought into a single storyline to fight against one common evil.

The film truly pushes the boundaries of cinema and rewards the most dedicated Marvel fans with a movie experience like no other. “Avengers: Endgame” expertly uses its pedigree, introducing massive set pieces completely unmatched by any other movie franchise.

The film picks up 23 days after “Avengers Infinity War” and the catastrophic event known simply as “the snap.” The Avengers, along with the rest of the world, are grieving as they try to cope with the sudden disappearance of their friends and loved ones, who disappeared because of the Titan Thanos. Their anger and grief fuels their need for revenge, sending them on a quest like no other to retrieve the Infinity Stones and reset the balance of their universe.

The film follows the Marvel Cinematic Universes’ flagship team, the original Avengers, which include Captain America, the Hulk and Iron Man. The legendary squad finds themselves with their backs against the wall fighting endlessly for a shot to rewrite the past. The movie is focused on their quest, and doesn’t spend much time with the main villain Thanos, whose story was told in “Avengers Infinity War.”

Although it mainly focuses on the original six Avengers, “Avengers: Endgame” weaves other characters into important roles while also finishing other storylines from previous movies. The movie juggles so many aspects at once, yet doesn’t seem overwhelming or boring. Every scene is carefully thought out and keeps even the youngest viewers interested.

Easter eggs, or hidden clues, are riddled throughout the film, ranging from direct lines from previous Marvel movies to small references to characters from the comics. These clues foreshadow the ending of the movie, giving viewers a taste of how the franchise ends.

After the buildup, hype and overall avalanche of theories and guesses on how “Avengers: Endgame” would conclude, viewers are completely blown out of the water in an unexpected adventure that everyone can enjoy. “Avengers Endgame” easily cements itself as the best movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and possibly as one of the greatest movies of all time.
