Lil Tjay puts the New York rap scene back on the map with the release of his passionate debut studio-recorded album, “True 2 Myself.”
Lil Tjay speaks his mind and sings his heart out in his debut album, “True 2 Myself.” The rapper delivers on every aspect of the album, incorporating beautiful, impressive vocals, emotional beats, memorable lyrics and a diverse selection of melodic rap.
Tione Dalyan Merritt, professionally known as “Lil Tjay,” is an up-and-coming rap artist from the Bronx, New York. The 18 year-old first began to draw attention on SoundCloud a year ago with his unusual voice and touching tracks. Lil Tjay has since blown up with his hit single, “Brothers,” which he followed up with another platinum single titled “Pop Out,” featuring Polo G.
“True 2 Myself” is Lil Tjay’s debut studio-recorded album with 17 tracks. The album contains several artist collaborations with features from Lil Wayne, Lil Baby, Lil Durk, Jay Critch and Rileyy Lanez, who add to the quality of the album. The album also includes the works of several platinum-awarded producers such as JD On Tha Track, CashMoneyAp and Dystinkt Beats.
Lil Tjay’s unique high-pitched voice is quickly noticeable after a first listen. In “True 2 Myself,” Lil Tjay perfectly incorporates his easily identifiable, satisfying vocals with fast, catchy melodies to create musical masterpieces. The tracks “Laneswitch,” “Ruthless,” and “Goat” are excellent embodiments of Lil Tjay’s twist on melodic New York rap.
Lil Tjay attracts audiences toward his music with his meaningful lyrics and emotional sound. The artist raps about his life struggles and genuine emotions that ultimately anybody can relate to.
