“Dash & Lily” welcomes holiday festivities while bringing joy to the viewers’ hearts.

The originality of the storyline makes the show compelling and the episodes become even more captivating for viewers. Although the majority of the acting was unrealistic, the episodes bring out a happy feeling within the audience and the scenes matched simultaneously with the plot.

The American romantic comedy was created by Joe Tracz and became available for streaming on Nov. 10. The show is based on the young adult series Dash & Lily’s Book of Dares by Dave Levithan and Rachel Cohh. Main characters, Dash and Lily, are played by Austin Abrams and Midori Francis.

The eight episode season follows two teenagers feeling for a genuine connection that then later connect as pen pals. They put each other through several scavenger hunts and dares to get to know one another, strengthening their intimate bond. They then find themselves questioning whether meeting in person was best for their relationship.

The plot of season one is intriguing as a result of its strong originality. The creativity of the connection formed between Dash and Lily closer creates an originality to the show, furthering its success. Therefore, it keeps viewers attentive and does not bore its audience.

The first few episodes are filled with action and suspense as the rising action and climax are demonstrated, but as falling actions are demonstrated the season starts to bore. The scenes start to lack creativity, especially after drawing viewers in so closely.

Each episode offers scenes that bring a heartwarming feeling across the audience due to its highly romantic and relatable storyline. Although the love story is confusing from time to time; it is exciting to watch and go through the emotional experience.

The acting conveyed throughout the season was unrealistic. Viewers were unable to form a connection to the emotions of the characters as the acting was phony and fake, making it difficult to follow along the storyline.

The backgrounds and scenery for every scene were detailed and brought color to the screen, furthering the holiday spirit that comes across. The backgrounds were chosen precisely for what was happening exactly in the story line, making it easier for viewers to connect with the plotline.

The originality of the story line, the emotions it evokes from viewers, and the intriguing backgrounds make Dash & Lily a must see show.
