“Cruella” opens with diving into her life as a little girl, and the audience learns that Cruella believed that she was born as an orphan. However, this new, modern version of “Cruella” puts a twist to these classic characters, as well as changes its original storyline.

Released on May. 28, “Cruella” is played by Emma Stone; Baroness is played by Emma Thompson; Jasper is played by Joel Fry; Horace is played by Paul Water Hauser; and Artie is played by John McCrea.

One of the key elements to the show’s success is the storyline and script. The writers completely spun the original story of Cruella into a somewhat sad but triumphing script. The stunning constant turn of events kept the show very interesting along with its classic tale.

The movie’s greatest strength is the fabulous acting that Stone brings. She takes acting to a whole different standard, portraying many emotions such as grief, happiness, loss, comfort, and drive. Stone has surely set the bar for all Disney movie reenactments. This movie in particular will go down as one of the best reenacted Disney animations.

The key element that drives the plot of the story is Cruella’s alter ego. Her original character is named Estella, but changes when she finds out who killed her mother. Cruella soon comes into play and draws out all of the climaxes of the plot.

Despite the movie’s many strengths, it falls short on its ability to maintain its timeline. The movie is set in the Victorian age, however, there are many modern references, modern technology, and modern architecture that do not line up with this Victorian setting. The movie could have been taken to the top if it was based in a more modern time period to keep up with the set that falls short with too many modern ideas.

Despite where the movie falls short, “Cruella” was an exciting movie that kept true to its original story. Stone brought the original animation to life and gave the movie its success with her exceptional acting.

“Cruella” is rated PG-13 andcan be found on Disney+ or in theatres.
