Hulu’s new movie Vacation Friends, is one of the most comical new movies of 2021 by taking viewers on a miscellaneous adventure. Although the plot is unrealistic it offers hilarity in its script.
The one hour and forty-three minute movie Vacation Friends begins with the main characters, Marcus and Emily in Mexico. Marcus then proposes to Emily and they meet another couple introduced as Ron and Kyla. They soon learn Ron and Kyla are out of control together and push life’s limits. The plot immediately takes off once they move into Ron and Kyla’s hotel room.
The comical movie, Vacation Friends became available on Hulu on Aug. 27, 2021. The main cast comprises John Cena as Ron, Meredith Hagner as Kyla, Lil Rey Howery as Marcus, and Yvonne Orji as Emily.
One of the key elements to the show’s success is its comedic elements. The script’s comedy isn’t necessarily cheesy as most movies but its humor is raunchy and somewhat dark leaving viewers hysterical. Lastly, the comedy isn’t repetitive by giving their audience fresh and original scenes.
The constant change of scenery and plot of the movie is arguably its greatest strength. Although it has odd aspects and a constant change of scenery would be a benefit to a movie. In this scenario it leaves more room for the script to play out and more jokes keeping an entertaining plot.
The key element driving the show’s plot is Kayla and Ron. Their crazy spirit leaves so much room for the plot to change, especially with all of the crazy ideas and new locations Kayla and Ron take Marcus and Emily to for example cliff jumping in Mexico.
Despite all of these strengths, Vacation Friends falls short when it comes to some of the racist humor. With Ron and Kayla being caucassion and Emily and Marcus being black many racist comments get made throughout the movie. The movie could still have been just as great without all of the derogatory racism.
Similarly, the movie is insanely unrealistic. It displays no sense of reality towards any event. Although it can be said that the unrealistic factor adds a sense of comedic effect, it makes movies just a little too boring to watch towards the end because it is too unbelievable.
The new comedy of 2021, Vacation Friends takes viewers on an unhinged adventure never leaving a dry moment of comedy to spare.
