The film, “Malignant” is a phenomenal horror story. It is a film that has its viewers on the edge of their seats and questioning what will happen next.

“Malignant” is a horror/thriller film about Madison, a woman who is paralyzed by these visions of gory murders and is tormented when she discovers her waking dreams have become terrifying realities. The police and everyone involved try to cure her visions and figure out why she is having these frightening visions.

The film was directed and produced by James Wan at New Line Cinema. The screenplay was written by Akela Cooper and J. T. Petty. The main actors are Emily May, who plays Madison Lake-Mitchell, Maddie Hasson who plays Sydney Lake, and Michole Briana White who plays Regina Moss.

This film has outstanding acting because it conveys realistic emotion throughout the entire film. For example, when Maddison is having a vision her true fear is shown and it makes the viewer know she is not having them on purpose. Portraying fear into the audience is a hard task because most times it is illustrated in a fake manner but this film executes it very well. This film is not corny and brings a new version of a horror/thriller film to the cinema world.

This horror film is one of the greatest because of its originality in contrast to other horror films. The storyline is unique as it is unpredictable and the viewer will never know what is to happen next. The plot also makes the viewer feel accelerated because of how it is turned into a cliffhanger and keeps them attuned through the whole film.

Although this film is exceptional, the opening scene is confusing, irrational, and weird. The scene opens up with a flashback at Simion Research Hospital which introduces the villain, the homicidal maniac Gabriel. This scene is confusing as the viewers are bombarded with too much information with not enough background details.

All in all, “Malignant” is an astonishing film that illustrates a true horror/thriller genre. This is demonstrated through its realistic acting and marvelous originality.

“Malignant” was released on Sep. 10th and is rated R. This film can be viewed with subscriptions on HBO Max and Sling TV or in your local theaters. on HBO Max and Sling TV or in your local theaters.
