Costa boys volleyball takes home the Interscholastic Beach Volleyball championship for the fifth consecutive year in a final match against San Marcos on October 9th.

According to junior Garrett Gronbach, various injuries on the team eliminated some of its valuable players, but due to the team’s dedication and experience, the boys were able to pull through and win.

”We’re dedicated to the game and [have grown] up playing volleyball all the time, whether it’s a pick up game or real competition,” Gronbach said.  “We won due to our amazing coaches and the hard work we put in.”

The Mustangs were undefeated this season. Seniors Wyatt Dyer and Mick Bakos were the first seeded team and emerged victorious from the final match with a score of 21-18.

“My favorite part of the final matches was the competition level from the other teams,” Gronbach said. “All season we had never seen anybody play as hard and intense as them. They truly put up a good fight but in the end we always come out on top.”
