Dan Modern Chinese in Manhattan Beach is already becoming a local favorite after recently opening in September of 2021. Customers pile through the doors to enjoy Dan’s delicious take on modern Chinese food.

Dan provides a variety of dining options for customers, including dine-in, takeout and delivery. With a multitude of options for both lunch and dinner, customers can enjoy Dan in the breathtaking restaurant atmosphere or in the comfort of their own homes. The indoor setup of the restaurant gives it a comforting atmosphere combined with a sleek finish.

Since Dan has only glass separating customers from the kitchen, customers can watch their food being hand-made by the chefs. This aspect of dining in at the restaurant makes for an elevating experience.

Dan has its own online menu, correlating with their modern take on Chinese cuisine. Dan decided to add an online menu to make take-out options easy and efficient. Additionally, the modern finish of the restaurant is complemented by the modern dining style and ordering options.

Dan prides itself on taking a modern approach to traditional Chinese cuisine. The primary goal of the new restaurant is to share traditional Chinese culture but with a “twist,” as Dan refers to it as. The menu consists of hand-made dumplings and noodles, a variety of fresh vegetables and fried rice. The modern take on Xiao Long Bao soup dumplings is absolutely amazing; the flavors are truly heaven-sent.

Specifically, the pork Xiao Long Bao is one of the greatest dishes from Dan. The combination of salty, juicy filling and the thin outer-layer makes for the perfect bite. Additionally, the Chicken Dan Mein noodles made with snow pea leaves and garlic sauce are bursting with flavor, practically melting in customers’ mouths.

The favorite overall dish recommended by many customers and workers is the chicken fried rice. Between the salty, flavorful rice and the perfectly-cooked chicken, the rice tops everything else on the menu.

The restaurant makes an effort to establish an intimate relationship with customers. The care put into each dish speaks volumes as the flavor explodes in customers’ mouths. In addition, the kitchen gravitates towards the use of fewer ingredients to prepare the courses, resulting in a refined taste. The food is truly simple yet astonishing.

The waiters and waitresses are all pleasant and helpful, making the overall experience very enjoyable. They continually check in with the table to make sure the food comes out just as it was ordered, and recommend their favorites if asked. The customer service adds to the enjoyable experience.

Dan has five different locations, making it easy for customers across the South Bay to splurge on Dan’s amazing food. Dan is open in Pasadena, Playa Vista, Manhattan Beach, Santa Monica and Sawtelle, providing a multitude of people with its unique flavors.

Don’t overlook the hidden gem within the bustling Manhattan Village. With marvelous dumplings that melt in customers’ mouths and perfectly crafted noodles, Dan is a truly breathtaking experience.

Dan is located at 3160 N Sepulveda Blvd Suite 140, open 11A.M. to 9P.M. all days of the week.
