“Black Panther: Wakanda Forever”  had an action packed plotline that provided fans closure to the “Black Panther” series.

‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ started playing in theaters on Nov. 11 and continues to move up in top movies for this year. So far, Marvel Studios has made $30.8 million worldwide throughout the opening weekend.

The 4 year long wait for the second Black Panther movie had tickets flying off the walls during opening weekend. The three-day weekend gave this movie a chance to double their profits with hopes of being the number one movie this year.

“Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” was directed by Ryan Coogler and produced by Marvel Studios and Walt Disney Pictures. The cast consisted of Letitia Wright playing Shuri; Tenoch Huerta playing Namor; and Angela Bassett playing Queen Ramonda.

During the beginning of the film, the directors had a celebration of life to remember the Black Panther. Throughout the film, the people of Wakanda followed traditions that their ancestors put into place in order to remember those that they have lost. “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” producers faced the harsh reality of a fallen leader and wrote it into this movie to display the image of a struggling nation. As the leadership became corrupt the characters struggled with knowing who they should follow next.

Similar to the movie prior, “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” shines a light on underrepresented ethnic groups in the film industry. Not only having a prominent cast of people of color there also represents these individuals in a powerful way which is something that’s very important with the ever lasting systemic racism in this country.

Not only was diversity present but the way in which it was presented was empowering for the younger generation watching the film. Through strength and courage displayed throughout the movie, it was able to showcase the power that one individual can hold inspiring viewers.

Coogler created a brilliant representation of unity throughout the movie. Prior to action-packed scenes, he emphasized the importance of teamwork and the necessity of coming together to resolve an issue, though specifically in this film an imbalance of power.

The costume designers were on point with the colors, patterns, and accessories for each costume. The unique and vivid colors portrayed an original feel to the movie illuminating diversity and culture. The new and improved costumes for this movie were perfectly suited for each character.

Though Boseman has passed, his legacy in the “Black Panther” sequel lingered throughout. The script-writers kept the integrity of his character by placing the role of The Black Panther onto his on-screen sister. Wright paid tribute to her past co-star through her beautiful portrayal of Boseman’s Black Panther. “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” was the perfect way to close the “Black Panther” series by a diverse representation while creating an on-screen tribute for Chadwick Boseman.

“Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” was released on November 11 and is available in all theaters.
