The Mira Costa Mustangs took on the Palos Verdes Sea Kings in one of the Mustangs’ most anticipated games this year Oct. 6. Looking for their first win, the Mustangs fell short in a a tough defensive struggle, falling to the Sea Kings 9-7. The Mustangs had two chances to win the game with a field goal but missed.

The Mustangs defense against the Sea Kings played well, holding them to only one touchdown and one field goal. Sophomore linebacker Jackie Reach made several big plays, keeping Costa in the game.

“ It was tragic to lose to one of our rivals, especially because it was such a close game. I thought our team did a great job against Palos Verdes being a top 100 team in California, ” Will Nammack said.

Friday, the 0-7 Mustangs will be on the road for their third Bay League game against Santa Monica looking to find their first win of the season at 7 p.m.
