The Mira Costa’s girls tennis team landed on top at the 5th-annual Point Loma Tournament in San Diego Sept. 30. The tournament hosted 16 teams, and at the start of the tournament, Costa was ranked as the 5th seed.
“Out of the 4 teams we played, all of them were strong. We didn’t have one ‘easy’ match going into this tournament,” said senior Skyla Kallis. “Even with the odds against us, we didn’t let that stop us from playing our hardest and ultimately winning the tournament,” said Kallis.
The girls tennis team’s next match will be Oct. 3 against Santa Monica High School.
