Football beats Peninsula 35-15 on the road

The Mustangs huddle towards the end of the game. Costa defeated Palos Verdes 35-15.

The Mustangs traveled to Palos Verdes last Friday to battle it out against Peninsula High School. The Mustangs took home their second win of the season, with the Mustangs winning 35 to Peninsula’s 15. Mira Costa dominated the game after Peninsula scored the first touchdown. Mustangs went on a 28-0 run. The Panthers scored their second touchdown along with a two point conversion nearing the end of the game. Costa quickly answered with another touchdown to close out the game.

Mira Costa put on a great performance all around offense and defense. Junior Safety Brad Shearer had a great defensive game. Senior Reece Leonard had an impressive Offensive game scoring 2 touchdowns. Brad Shearer had Costa’s first Pick six of the season along with his first pick and touchdown of the season. 

“It feels great to win Our second bay league game back to back. We have been working hard at practice and are ready for Redondo this week.”  Junior Safety  Brad Shearer says.

On Friday, the Mustangs will take on the Redondo Seahawks for Costa’s homecoming game. Redondo is the Mustangs’ biggest rival so the team is fired up.
