Pardon Our Take

It’s officially March Mustangs, this is a huge month for sports fans, spring fans, and vacation fans. As always, welcome back to our school’s illustrious La Vista newspaper. We hope to feed you with the most accurate and entertaining news of all 16 pages. If ya nasty.

March is best known for one thing: March Madness. Every sports fan formulates their brackets while being fully convinced that they have what it takes to be the 1 in a 9.2 quintillion to have a perfect bracket. Someone may ask, “Why is it so hard to have a perfect bracket?” Our answer to that question is: It is March. The real answer is upsets, which is when a lower seed team beats a higher seed team, which is very common in this tournament. The fans that are “old enough” will also spend this month using every last penny of February’s check to gamble on all of these 19-21-year-olds who shoot a ball at a net.

If the groundhog decides on it, March also holds the beginning of spring. Besides the change in weather and the blooming of life, spring sports also come into full swing. Sports like Baseball, Softball, Track and Field, and Lacrosse are the big hits of spring. Lucky for Costa Students, all three of these programs at our school are D1 and continue to impress. If history repeats itself, which it always does, all of these programs will hold a lot of talent but will be under shadowed by our own students. Ultimately, the lack of care for these sports from our own ASB and students does not bring light to the talented athletes in these sports.

As most of the seniors are looking forward to their next year at college, during March they watch college kids go on crazy spring break trips. While they collect ideas for their first spring break trip, a college relationship is ending. With this idea, we present to you our starting five. If your Girlfriend is going to these places you are most likely cooked:

  1. Fort Lauderdale, Florida
  2. Cabo San Lucas, Mexico
  3. Miami, Florida
  4. Panama City Beach, Florida
  5. Anywhere in Florida

And that’s the scoop. We hope that as spring continues you begin to work on yourself because most of you are cooked. Tune in to the next issue and as always, please Pardon Our Take.
