In what the Mira Costa swim team head coach described as not as close as it seemed, the Mustang swim team continued its dominant season on April 14 at Peninsula High School versus the Panthers with the girls varsity team leading the charge.

The overall score came down to a handful of points with the Mustang girls varsity team earning a 87-82 victory. Boys varsity lost 117-53.

Costa junior Merial Mitsakos won in two different events, swimming times of 2:19.32 in the 200-meter individual medley and 1:03.86 in the 100-meter butterfly. She was one of many swimmers who excelled at the meet for the girls team.

The Mustangs swim against Palos Verdes on April 19.
