Members of the Mira Costa staff were honored in accordance with the national Staff Appreciation Week, held from May 2-6.
The Parent Teacher and Student Organization at Mira Costa as well as Student Government did small things throughout the week. For the duration of the week, staff members were given candy and gift cards by members of the Student Government. Additionally, a breakfast was held for the staff on Wednesday morning.
Members of Student Government also hung signs around the campus that showed support and gratitude towards the staff. There was also a luncheon held to honor the staff on May 5.
“As an educator myself, I think it’s a nice thing that we do. It gets a lot of support,” Student Government adviser Lisa Claypoole said.
