The Boys Water Polo team played in the AFC Invite Tournament in San Diego on the 23rd and the 24th.
The Mustangs beat Fountain Valley 10-3, but then lost Cathedral Catholic after a close game ending with a score of 9-10. The Mustangs faced Los Osos and lost 3-10. After the loss they played Buchanan and lost 1-9. They improved during the last game and beat Eastlake 10-6.
Mira Costa finished in 15th place overall.
The top performers include Senior Dan Burdiak who had 5 goals throughout the tournament. Senior Matt Thornton also contributed to Costa’s efforts.
“We have a lot to work on,” Burdiak said. “ I know we can fix everything though.”
