Boys water polo squeezes out a win at Peninsula

The Mira Costa boys water polo team faced off against Peninsula in a Bay League game on Oct. 13. The Mustangs managed to pull off a win in the away game versus the Panthers.

The game eventually ended up going into overtime, during which Costa won 10-9 at the last second. The Mustangs were able to grab the victory when senior Matt Thornton scored the game-winning goal.

Senior Josh Huttinger led the Mustangs with three goals while seniors Dan Burdiak and Thornton followed with two each.

The Mustangs’ upcoming games will be against Los Alamitos on Oct. 17 and rival Redondo Union on Oct. 18, both of which will be taking place at home.
