On November 3, Mira Costa’s girls golf team was knocked out of the CIF team regionals in Solvang, CA at Alisal golf course. The girls final record is 11-2 overall and 8-0 in Bay League.

Out of 16 teams, Costa placed 12th overall in the tournament and was unable to make the cut of the top 4 teams to qualify for the next round. Although the girls season is over, Coach Tim Kelley couldn’t be more proud of the team’s progress throughout the year.

“We did well for our first time being at that elite level,” Kelley said. “I look to improve on certain things for next year’s season.”

On November 7, sophomore Megan Kim competed in the CIF Regionals and Individual tournaments in Oxnard, California and successfully moved on.

In the CIF Individual Tournament, Kim shot a 68, which put her at third place for the round and at the CIF regional tournament, Kim stroked a 71, bringing her to second place and advancing her to the CIF Southern State Tournament.

Kim will compete in the CIF Southern State Tournament on Thursday, November 10 at SCGA golf course in Murrietta. If she places in the top 9 of this tournament, Kim will then advance to the CAL State tournament at Pebble Beach in Monterey, Ca.
