The Mira Costa softball team won their first conference game 9-2 on April 10 away against Palos Verdes Peninsula High School. The Mustangs now have a 10-4-1 record overall and a 1-0 record in Bay League.

Sophomore Kasey Hutton went 2-for-4 with four runs batted in and she scored two runs for Costa. Junior Shannon Savino scored two runs as well and went 1-for-4 with two runs batted in. Senior Taylor Glover went 3-for-5 with one run batted in and she scored two points to help with the teams victory.

“We were all really pumped today to redeem ourselves from last years game against Peninsula, plus our defense was really strong throughout the game as well as our hitting,” Hutton said. “It felt so great to beat them in our first League game and hopefully we will continue to play strong in the rest of the League games.”

The girls will play at home against Leuzinger High School on April 12 at 3:15.
