The Mira Costa baseball team beat West Torrance for the second time in Bay League on Friday, April 12. The Mustangs won in the bottom of the eighth inning 2-1.
Senior Chris Alcala pitched the complete game. In the bottom of the eighth, junior Greg Whittaker hit a double to start off the inning. Junior Jack Webber bunted to move Whittaker to third, but the Warriors got the out at third. Webber stole second and senior Braden Casady hit a line drive double down the right field line to score Webber and win the game.
“Alcala pitched a great game and Casady really came through in the end,” junior outfielder Ryan Corral said.
