Boys soccer finished second in Bay League but lost 4-1 against Servite in the second round of Division I of the California Interscholastic Federation tournament on Feb. 25.

Servite scored on a penalty kick and followed it with three goals. The Mustangs scored their only goal when senior midfielder Christian Lopez converted a penalty kick.

“The score doesn’t reflect how hard we played,” Lopez said.

In round one of CIF on Feb. 20, the Mustangs entered double overtime against Martin Luther King High School and won in penalty kicks. Costa finished with a record of 12 -6-4.

“I couldn’t be more proud of our team this season,” senior captain Caley Berney said. “Overall, this team represents everything Costa soccer stands for.”
